"I'm Not Invisible"

Live, Laugh, Sing, ... oh ... and did I mention Sing?

Over-flowing with passion of many things, soulful music is Laural's "true love".  With strong inspirations from just a few of her many idols, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight and Patsy Cline top the list, “They bared their souls with every note, staking claim to the listener’s awe,” You can see the admiration Laural feels as she speaks.  “I only wish to move people with my music, whether it be physically, emotionally or spiritually.”

Laural spends her day-to-day seeking ways to inspire and provoke forward, healthy movement in the lives of those whose light has been diminished by trauma. At night, her dreams echo the stories she’s heard; the pain, the sadness, the struggle and the triumphs. Their stories are songs, yet to be written.

During a Nashville visit in July 2013 to record a few songs, Laural felt a longing to stay. The Music City was calling her name, urging her to pursue her passion of making music. Moving to Nashville a few months later was a journey she was sure would make her life complete. Wanting and needing to be “in the music,” surrounded by inspiration, knowing it would be the key to gaining access to all the tools necessary in memorializing the fodder of that inspiration.

Taking some time to settle in to her new life in Tennessee, Laural soon was moved to begin an exciting project, which she believed would honor both her musical heroes and a desire for her own authenticity.

The first five songs are the result of that July recording.  While recording them provided her the opportunity to try her hand at studio work, “they were recorded prior to my epiphany and are not reflective of the music I dream of creating.”  Wanting something more, Laural has recently completed an album of songs that touch her heart; a compilation of melodies and lyrics that speak to her soul and provide an opportunity to expand on her style. "Developing this album, I'm Not Invisible, was a catalyst for healing and growth for me. Perhaps others will be moved similarly."
